The St Giles Christmas Course combines a 2-week General English course with the chance to
experience an English Christmas in a host family.
There are 9 days of General English tuition: 17th December 2007 - 4th January 2008.
There are no lessons from 24th December to 28th December 2007 or on 1st January 2008.
Students spend 3 weeks living with a host family and celebrate Christmas with the family.
During the week of 26th December students receive full board and the cost of this
is included in the total fees for accommodation.
The course content is general and covers a mixture of grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Special topics are also taught to allow students to make the most of their time in England over Christmas, e.g. shopping vocabulary and British customs.
In addition to the course we run some special Christmas Social Programme activities such as a visit to a carol concert in a church, a trip to see a Christmas show at the theatre, going to see the 'Holiday on Ice' show etc. The cost of these activities is not included in the price - students just pay for those activities in which they wish to participate (please see sample itineraries for each college by following the links at the top pf this page).
