The St Giles Educational Trust is a registered charity and was established in 1970. The main purpose of the Trust is to raise standards in the English language teaching profession through its teacher training and language research programmes. Indeed, all St Giles Teacher Training Courses are offered through the Trust and St Giles is currently engaged in a research programme with the University of Reading on testing oral skills.
The Trust runs the St Giles London Central ELT library. This resource centre and library is open to all members of the ELT profession, including visiting teachers from overseas. The ELT library includes a reference section, journals and periodicals, multi-media facilities and samples of the latest materials in English language teaching. For more information, please visit ELT Library & Online Bookshop.
As part of our commitment to maintaining and raising standards for all our students, the Trust organises a scheme of rigorous bi-annual inspections by teams of highly qualified assessors at each of our colleges. These inspections ensure that the level of service we provide in all-important areas is regularly reviewed and continuously improved.
