St Giles offers a wide range of English courses to suit students of all ages and abilities.
General English
Our General English courses offer a choice of 15,20 or 28 lessons per week, and can be taken as morning, afternoon or full-day intensive courses. General English is available at our English language schools in London, Brighton, Eastbourne, San Francisco and Vancouver.
We also offer an International Semester Course for students who want to spend 6 months or more learning English in England, the USA or Canada.
Examination Preparation Courses
Our exam preparation courses offer specially designed programmes to prepare students for the internationally recognised Cambridge FCE, CAE and CPE examinations, and for the IELTS and TOEFL English examinations.
English for Special Purposes
Combine your General English course with a speciality. St Giles International offers courses in English for Art and Design, English for Tourism and English for Business.
Platinum Courses
Platinum Courses are designed for business people, professionals and mature adults looking for a focused and ambitious programme of study. We offer small group classes (maximum 5 clients per class), individually designed 1:1 lessons, or a combination of small group plus 1:1 lessons (5 or more per week). These courses are designed to suit a variety of needs and objectives, but will commonly include a focus on professional and commercial communication skills, negotiating styles and techniques, presentations skills, social English, and business writing skills. We are also able to offer specialist courses in law, finance, medicine, military, journalism, aviation and English for the oil industry. You can also contact us for any other specific requirements. Platinum Courses are available in Brighton, London Central, San Francisco and Vancouver and are held in dedicated Platinum Centres. Courses start every Monday, for a minimum of 1 week. Group classes are available from elementary upwards. One-to-one classes are available at all language levels.
Vacation Courses
Our English Vacation Courses offer students the opportunity to spend the summer or Christmas holiday period learning English at one of the St Giles Colleges, alongside a programme of organised excursions and activities that allow you to practise your new English skills as well as make new friends. We also offer vacation courses for children at our Junior Summer Camps in Southampton (children aged 12 - 17) and Nottingham (children aged 10 - 17).
Teacher Training Courses
St Giles offers a complete range of courses designed for native and overseas teachers of English. Full information on our teacher training courses can be found on a dedicated section of this website.
Foreign language courses
St Giles also offers foreign language evening classes in French, Spanish, Italian, German, Polish and Mandarin at our schools in central London and Highgate.
English plus Internship courses
Combine your General English course with a speciality. St Giles International offers courses in English for Art and Design, English for Tourism and English for Business.
You also have the opportunity to practice and develop your English in a work environment on one of our English Plus Unpaid Internship Courses or English Plus Paid Internship Courses
University and College Entry in the UK and USA
St Giles also offers a range of preparation courses, designed to prepare students for studying at universities and colleges in the UK and USA. Our University Foundation Business Course is designed for students who are looking to gain entry onto a business related undergraduate degree, across a range of British universities. Our ISC Pathway Programme in San Francisco offers an exciting and flexible pathway onto US Associate and Bachelor Degree courses’.
